One of the biggest printing industry events, Graph Expo, takes place in Chicago each fall. In addition to the amazing speakers, keynotes, demos and exhibits, the classes are simply awesome. I spent a week learning about what's new in the design field. Plus, it was the chance to spend a week soaking in the city I love. Jake and Elwood would have been proud.

After a quiet and hot summer, we decided it was time to get out of town for a bit. Why not make it a road trip? And why not enjoy the road from the seats of a Camaro SS convertible? And why not head to our favorite bed and breakfast in Pennsylvania (the luxurious Twin Pine Manor)? So we did, and it was wonderful! The highlight of the trip was a visit to the amazing Green Dragon Farmer's Market, the largest on the east coast.

The Indy Racing League and NASCAR Truck Series made a visit to the Texas Motor Speedway in early June. Speedway Children's Charies hosted one of their major events on Thursday evening during qualifying for the truck race. It's always an amazing event and I have a great time helping produce the supporting materials.

A friend of mine once referrenced our wives by saying we had both "married up" in the world. After fourteen blissful years of her teaching me, taking care of me, and simply tolerating me, there is no doubt that I married well above my head.

The ongoing project of having my 1980 Pontiac Trans Am restored is... ongoing. I've owned the car for over 20 years and it's finally getting the restoration/update that it deserves. I made a trip to Ron's Classic Auto Restoration in Martinsville to check out the work to done so far. I'm pleased with how the project is going. The car looks great.... nice and shiny and black.

We were fortunate enough to have yet another member of our family, my brother Manish, come visit us for a few days in mid-May. His visit coincided with National Police Week and he attended several of the special events, including the Candlelight Vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Add to that a lot of eating and PS3 playing, and you have the makings of what was a pretty great visit.

A few days before Mother's Day, we were lucky enough to have our mother come to town for a long-overdue visit. She made the trip from Alabama here to D.C. for five days of being spoiled a little. We had a wonderful time (as always) spending time together, doing a little sightseeing, and a litte (lot) more eating.
